There are 3 Cala Figuera's on the island...
I visited the tiny old fishing hamlet on the south east coast and wow! #mustseedestination
Considering the unseasonal weather, I was so grateful for a hire car to fully explore Mallorca. I used Formentor Rent A Car in Cala Sant Vicenç. I would highly recommend them; great customer service, unlimited mileage, no deposit at car collection and high quality vehicles. (Note - there is lots of street parking upon arrival into the town).
Cala Figuera stretches from the high, rocky cliffs right down to the fishing harbour which boasts some of the most picturesque buildings of the whole of Mallorca. Pine trees, fishermans houses and boat sheds, rich green shutters.... I was in photography heaven! No sandy beaches; just a chance to observe the fishermen fixing their nets, enjoy the tranquility, and understand this preserved fishing village.
Take the beautiful walk right round the bay, up/down steps, looking over balconies where the water looks even more pristine!
Wear flip flops/non-slip shoes as some parts of the walk are slippery.
Take your camera!
Have lunch in Restaurante Pizzeria Es Port, (classic dishes/mediterranean cuisine). There are not a huge amount of places to choose from, but most are cliff-side with beautiful views!
