Summer finally arrived at the weekend in the UK! I booked a last minute trip to Camber Sands and Rye.
Two very different places to visit, but both idyllic. Camber Sands... known as one of the most popular sandy beaches located in East Sussex. Rye, just 2 miles away - an English town lined with medieval, half-timbered houses and cobbled lanes.
Set off early on hot days/childrens' holidays! The road into Camber is only a single carriageway and traffic builds up very quickly! (Before 8am!)
Beware of the changing tides/sandbars
Swim between the red and yellow flags when lifeguards are on duty.
Children; make use of the wristband system (assist with lost children).
Rye - TOP TIPS!
Have your camera/gimbal ready! Photographers paradise... especially Mermaid Street which was voted one of the most instagrammed streets in the UK!
Wear appropriate footwear - cobbled, hilly streets.
Marino's Fish Bar - The best known fish and chips in the area!
The Fig - Independant cafe on the high street serving brunch, lunch and dinner. (Bookings needed for dinner only).
Go for a general wander, there are free town maps dotted around the town.
Visit some of the cafe's, shops, antiques shops, or stop off for an ice cream at the Mermaid Street Cafe!
