Traditional, historic England; English tea, Sunday roast, rolling countryside, quaint architecture and the red telephone box! And one place you can still experience all of this... The Cotswolds!
Covering almost 800 miles and 5 different counties there are so many beautiful, quaint areas to the Cotswolds. I spent my birthday weekend here and it was beautiful.
Bourton-on-the-water... The Venice of the Cotswolds!
Regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England, there is plenty to see and do. Traditional bakeries, tea rooms, souvenir shops, Birdland, Cotswold Motor Museum and The Model Village are just a few to name. Just wandering along the stream, over the bridges, viewing the traditional cottages and the whole atmosphere here... I felt like I was on a film set!
(Definitely one of the most popular villages - so ensure to get up early before the crowds if you want those Instagram perfect pictures!)
With its sloping main High Street and three arched medieval bridge, Burford is considered the gateway to The Cotswolds. The 15th century church, souvenir and local produce shops were fantastic - and if passing by on a Sunday be sure to stop off in one of the many charming, listed pubs for Sunday roast!
